GHzero is an innovative start-up for the creation and marketing of modules of innovative greenhouses (the module is called “greenhouse 2020”) in the agricultural field (fruit, vegetables, hemp) and floriculture, with the help of technologies that allow a production greater and independent of environmental conditions outside the greenhouse, in particular with intelligent LED artificial light; the commercialization of innovative lighting bodies is also planned.

“Serra 2020” is mobile, totally assembled on site (the measures allow the transport of the form on the road and / or cargo plane, container by ship), the dimensions may vary according to the requests and needs of the customer even with respect to crops.
The cultivation module is based on the multi-storey out-of-floor technique (multi-story production), can be implemented using the basic technique of the areoponics or aquaponics (a substrate of water spray or the use of a film of water moving within channels).
The greenhouse combines the use of renewable energy (innovative photovoltaic and wind energy according to the areas where it will be installed), with technologies that allow greater production and independent of environmental conditions outside the greenhouse, in particular: with LED artificial light, ‘water of cultivation with hydroponic or aeroponic methods, biological isolation of the greenhouse and consequent reduction of the proliferation of mold, bacteria and fungi.

The intelligent LED technology allows you to easily select the range of light wavelengths that can best stimulate photosynthesis – the so-called PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation – range between 400 and 700 nanometers) – and increase the total number of photons in the spectrum of PAR that invest a surface of one square meter for each second.
LED lamps in our possession thanks to the modulation of variable frequencies allow you to grow more crops during the year, without replacing the lamp body. It has already been developed and is available for marketing and related applications.
From the point of view of the greenhouse, innovation consists in the integration / assembly / control modalities of the plants used to produce energy, water, nutrient / fertilization dosage, control of the internal atmosphere, temperature, humidity and lights.
They will be managed according to the circadian motions of the crops, as well as to the methods of application of the products, already in truth existing on the market but with different uses and destinations.
The first pilot module of the “greenhouse 2020”
is located in the G. Bonfantini National Agricultural
Technical Institute of Novara.
A pilot module of the “greenhouse 2020” is being installed inside the agricultural company of the G. Bonfantini National Agricultural Technical Institute of Novara, where the experimentation on the field of the cultivation of various crops will take place. The linear meters cultivated within the module will vary according to the chosen cultivated and the use of water coming from the humidity of the air.
For the sanitation can be used, taking into account the specific needs, UVC lights and fertilization through fertigation.
The automation of the control of the nutritional processes and of the PH will allow, combined with the intelligent LEDS, to cultivate intensively, reducing the spaces between the plants and cultivating together on different floors.
HYDROPONIC CULTURE – TECHNOLOGICAL PLUS
Today, hydroponics is widespread in Northern Europe and in some countries of South America (example Chile), while in Italy it is still rather untried. This is certainly linked to the advantage that our traditional crops enjoy from our sunshine; however, daily, in supermarkets, strawberries and lettuce (very often imported) are the result of a hydroponic cultivation.
The advantages that the GH-Zero cells will have compared to the “traditional” hydroponic culture are to be found in the automation of the nutritional and PH processes that will allow, combined with the intelligent LEDs, to cultivate intensively, reducing the spaces between the plants and cultivating simultaneously on different levels.
This is the reason why even the Italian market and the Mediterranean basin in general will be interested in this type of product.

GHZERO S.r.l. is an innovative start-up, recently established (May 2018) with a strong Piedmont “soul”, the embryonic idea dates back to October 2017 from a comparison between Luca Bertolino, agronomist and teacher, Massimiliano Caligara, president of a club of Legambiente, and Fabrizio Barini, head of the New Business Development of Intermonte Sim.
